Privacy Policy
What we collect
- What you type into the questionnaire: names, stories, and details you choose to share, plus the speech we write from them and any revision requests.
- Your email address, collected at checkout so we can send your speech and receipt.
- Payment details are entered on Stripe's checkout page. We never see or store your full card number.
- Basic technical data, such as IP address, used briefly in memory to prevent abuse (rate limiting) and in our host's standard server logs.
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
How we use it
Only to write, revise, deliver, and support your speech, to process payment and refunds, and to keep the service secure. We do not sell your information or use your stories for advertising.
Who processes it for us
- xAI: the AI model that drafts and checks your speech receives your questionnaire answers.
- Stripe: payments.
- Resend: sends your speech and receipt email.
- Render: hosts the app and database. Cloudflare: DNS for our domain.
Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Your stories and speech are automatically deleted 30 days after purchase. Drafts that are never purchased are deleted after 7 days. Please save your PDF. We keep a minimal order record (date, amount, Stripe reference, occasion type, no stories or speech text) for accounting and tax purposes. If you receive a refund, we also keep your email address and a card identifier from Stripe (a fingerprint, not your card number) so we can apply our one-refund-per-customer limit. Stripe keeps its own payment records. Our hosting provider (Render) takes encrypted daily snapshots of our disk, which it keeps for at least seven days, so deleted data can remain in those backups for a limited time (typically about a week) before the snapshots expire.
Your choices
Email info@saiditwell.com to ask us to delete your speech sooner, or to ask what we hold about you.
Children
Said It Well is not directed to children under 13.
